Community guidelines

WorkUp works when people are honest and respectful. These guidelines explain what we expect.

Posting jobs

  • Describe the work clearly: what, where, when and the budget or pay.
  • Post each job once, from your own account.
  • Only offer real, legal work. Never ask applicants to pay a fee, deposit or for training to apply.
  • Keep your listing up to date and close it when the work is filled.

Freelancer profiles

  • Use your real name, a real photo and skills you actually have.
  • Be clear about your rates and the areas you serve.
  • Only list work and qualifications you can prove.

Messages and applications

  • Be polite and reply in a reasonable time.
  • Keep conversations about the work. No harassment, hate or threats.
  • Do not share other people’s private details.
  • Agree price, scope and payment in writing before starting.

Reviews

  • Write about the work you actually received or did.
  • Be fair and specific. Do not include insults or private information.
  • Never buy, sell or swap reviews.

Staying safe

  • Meet in a public place for the first time, or tell someone where you are going.
  • Be careful with requests to pay in advance, move to another app quickly, or share bank or card details.
  • If something feels wrong, stop and report it.

Reporting and what happens next

Use the Report button on any job, profile, review or conversation. Moderators look at reports and can hide content, warn, suspend or remove accounts, always with a reason. You will be told when your report is resolved.
