Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data WorkUp collects, why, who sees it and what control you have. We follow Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022.

1. Who is responsible
SolutionSwift operates WorkUp and is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@solutionswift.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and whether you are an employer or a freelancer.
- Profile data: for freelancers, headline, bio, skills, experience, rates, languages, location, photo and a phone number; for employers, company details, place and a phone number.
- Content you create: jobs, applications, chat messages, reviews, saved jobs, saved searches and reports.
- Technical data: request identifiers, browser and device information, and security logs such as failed sign-ins. We do not put passwords, tokens, emails or phone numbers in our logs.
- Usage counts such as how many times a job or profile was viewed.
3. What is public and what is private
- Public: job listings, public freelancer profiles (name, headline, bio, skills, rates, general area, photo, ratings) and reviews you write or receive.
- Never shown in listings or profiles: your email address and phone number. Locations are shown as a town or district, never an exact address.
- Private: your messages, applications, notifications and account settings. They are visible to you and, where relevant, the other person in the conversation.
4. Why we use your data
- To provide the service: create your account, publish jobs and profiles, let people apply and chat, and show search and map results.
- To keep you informed: verification and password emails, and notifications about applications, messages and reviews, according to your settings.
- To keep WorkUp safe: prevent spam and fraud, detect duplicate jobs, handle reports and enforce our terms.
- To improve the service: understand which features are used and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
5. Legal basis
We process your data to perform our agreement with you (the Terms of Service), with your consent where you give it (for example optional emails and job alerts), for our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and where the law requires it.
8. Emails
We send service emails (verification, password reset, notifications you have not switched off, and job alerts you have asked for). You can change notification emails in your settings and stop any job alert with the link in the email. We never send emails on behalf of other people, and we do not send marketing to people who have not asked for it.
9. How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. When you close your account we hide your profile and jobs and stop contacting you. We then keep only what we need for a limited time, such as reports, moderation records and messages tied to a complaint, security logs and records the law requires, and delete or anonymise the rest.
10. Security
We protect data with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls and audit records of administrator actions. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it private. If a breach affects your rights we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act you may:
- ask whether we hold your data and get a copy;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data, or restrict how we use it, where the law allows;
- withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what happened before;
- object to certain uses of your data;
- complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka if you think we have not handled your data properly.
12. How to use your rights
Email support@solutionswift.com from the address on your account with the subject Privacy request, and tell us what you need. We may ask you to confirm who you are, and we will reply within 21 days. You can also edit most of your data yourself in your profile and settings.
13. Children
WorkUp is not for people under 18. If you believe a child has an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
14. Transfers outside Sri Lanka
Some of our providers may process data in other countries. When that happens we use providers who protect data to a standard comparable to Sri Lankan law and we only share what is needed.
15. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you on the site or by email.
